DIY Post: Industrial Bird Feeder

This fun and easy bird feeder can add an industrial look to any front porch.

Poultry Wire (1/4 inch)
Jewelry Wire
Wire Cutters
Round Nose Pliers
Bird Seed

Start with a 6×6 inch piece of Poultry Wire.  Fold the one edge into itself to create a cone.  Use your wire cutters to cut the edge where the two meet.

Use a piece of jewelry wire to “sew” the seam together creating a finished cone.  You will notice at the top of the cone, that one edge is finished and the other is unfinished and sitting higher.  Cut that with your wire snips to make a smooth edge.

Add a chain to each side, fill with bird seed and hang to your heart’s content.
Once you get the technique down you can make them in any size!  Group them together at varying heights and create a mobile look that will have the birds coming for days!
