DIY Post: Simple Lanterns

Lanterns_Post

1- Clip your wire into a circle and hot glue. Reinforce joint by wrapping with wire to make your circle extra secure. Note: each lantern requires 2 loops – 1 for top and 1 for bottom. (Our loop shown here is 10 inches in diameter)

2- Make a cross bar with your wire. This is only necessary for your lantern’s top loop, and is used for hanging.

3- You should now have 2 loops of the same size- 1 with a cross bar and 1 without

4- Hot glue your top loop about 1/2 inch or so from the edge of your paper making a 3D shape. Do the same with your bottom loop on the bottom edge of your paper.

5- You should now have a tube like shape. Use your hot glue to seal the seam down the side of your tube.

6- Voila! You’ve got a lantern. Hang with fishing line for a floating effect & cluster different sizes and width lanterns to create a focal point!

We loved the effect of these lanterns for a pop of color and whimsy this season and we hope you do too! Try them out and send us your pics at info@libbystory.com – we’d love to see ‘em!

DIY Post: Free People shop-in-shop

If you haven’t been into our Ridgeland location recently, now is the time to do it! We just wrapped up our renovation of the front portion of our store, which has now morphed into a Free People shop-in-shop (meaning a full space devoted solely to the FP brand)! And, it’s pretty dreamy if we do say so ourselves. What’s even better than that?? Come in tomorrow (Thursday, Sept 6th) and receive 20% off all Free People in celebration of National Fashion’s Night Out!
