Yep, your heard us right- It’s time for another contest- and what does another contest mean? Another chance to win big! For the month of July we want to see what your summer nights look like. So, snap some photos, share ‘em on instagram with the hashtag #lssummernights and cross your fingers for a win! We’ll be reposting and sharing some of our favorites on our instagram, facebook and our site throughout the month and at the end we’ll select our ultimate fave for a $150 gift card prize. And, yes, multiple entries are allowed. So, what are you waiting for? Start snapping and sharing- we can’t wait to see whatchya got!
Here’s just a snapshot of some #lssummernights we’ve seen so far:
1- Clip your wire into a circle and hot glue. Reinforce joint by wrapping with wire to make your circle extra secure. Note: each lantern requires 2 loops – 1 for top and 1 for bottom. (Our loop shown here is 10 inches in diameter)
2- Make a cross bar with your wire. This is only necessary for your lantern’s top loop, and is used for hanging.
3- You should now have 2 loops of the same size- 1 with a cross bar and 1 without
4- Hot glue your top loop about 1/2 inch or so from the edge of your paper making a 3D shape. Do the same with your bottom loop on the bottom edge of your paper.
5- You should now have a tube like shape. Use your hot glue to seal the seam down the side of your tube.
6- Voila! You’ve got a lantern. Hang with fishing line for a floating effect & cluster different sizes and width lanterns to create a focal point!
We loved the effect of these lanterns for a pop of color and whimsy this season and we hope you do too! Try them out and send us your pics at email@example.com – we’d love to see ‘em!
“Is that real film we used in our lookbook???,” you ask. Well… Yeah! We absolutely love the grainy retro feel of real film and we thought (fingers crossed) you might appreciate it too. These are a few of our developed images and a little bit of the actual film as well. When planning our shoot, we talked about a fun bohemian 70′s appeal, and the first things that came to mind were all the fantastic film photos of our parents from the 70′s. Well, we figured we’d give it a go ourselves, and turns out, we kinda like it and you may just be seeing more where this came from!
Ever curious about what the outtake images from our photo shoots look like? Well here are just a few. Stay tuned to our website — libbystory.com , of course — to see our Free People lookbook… Comin’ at ya soon!
